OUR STORY
House 98 Productions is based in Hamilton, Ontario and is an ode to my childhood home there.
Considered my first “artist studio”, my bedroom saw many of my first creations: Captain Underpants inspired comics, radio shows recorded on an old voice recorder, and yes, even fanfiction.
I built a world inside of my room; a place where I didn’t have to hide who I was. I could show up and try new things without the pressure of someone else judging me. Being introverted was how I felt safe in this world and stayed true to myself.
So I know how it feels when you’re doing poses that you would never do in real life, in places where you would never act that way, for a stranger you barely even know. I believe that a person doesn’t have to be posed in order to “look good”. Who you are naturally is picture perfect all on its own. You’re worthy of being celebrated just as you are.

I'm Rome, the guy who's always behind the camera.
Like you, I am a bit introverted. There are moments where I can be extroverted, but I much prefer hanging back and people watching - it helps me tell great stories like yours. As an introverted photographer, there is nothing more gratifying than expressing the meaningfulness behind a quiet moment, the things that are felt and not said.

Inspired by the styles of street photographers from around the world, and guided by the principles of photojournalism (thanks to my journalism degree), posing has never been in my wheelhouse. Instead, it's you who tells me where to go and where to be, just by being in the moment.
